mobile publishing
Jan 28th
So I’ve had this blog up and running for a little over 3 months now and the majority of my posts are written and submitted with my iPhone.
All of my #draw365 posts are done from my phone. I take a pic of my drawings with the iPhone, or sometimes I draw the pic with the Brushes app on my phone. From there, I upload it to this blog with the wordpress app.
The wordpress app isn’t the greatest, but it’s ok for basic text. Links are more of a pain than they should be, but pictures are easy to upload if you don’t care too much about fancy layouts or wrapping text.
Typing long posts does start to strain my little thumbs, and I worry about carpal tunnel, but it’s very cool to start typing a post when the idea comes to you while waiting in the dentist’s office… or to draw a picture and publish it online while riding the train.
Is all of that necessary? Do I really need to blog all the time? Definitely not, but it is very neat to have the option to publish nearly whatever I want – pictures, text, video – from almost wherever I might be. It’s far from perfect, but the iPhone is a relatively powerful mobile publishing option for the time being… next step… netbook? iPad?
