#draw365
A good friend of mine introduced me to #draw365 on twitter. The idea is that you upload a new drawing every day and share it on twitter under the hash tag #draw365. I used to draw quite a bit as a kid and for a while during my undergrad studies, but then I got to the “busy phase” of my life – the last 10 years. Well I think I’m still in that busy phase, but I thought #draw365 would be a great way to force me to do something I enjoy – much like my origami website.
So now that I’ve explained the concept of #draw365, let me explain why I’m posting drawings to MyiPhoneExploits.com While I do have a scanner, I didn’t want to be tied to my desktop at home in order to upload my pictures. So I decided to take pics with my iPhone for uploading… but then I had to decide where to upload the pics. There were the usual suspects: twitpic, flickr, picasaweb… but ultimately I decided this website would be best because I have a little more control and flexibility over this. I use the WordPress 2 app to upload pics from my phone to this blog, and TweetDeck to tweet to the group.
In addition to taking pics of my drawings with my iPhone, I’m also contemplating using an app like Layers or Brushes to actually draw some of these pictures. If I go that route, I’ll of course post a review of the app(s). Also, after I take the pictures with the iPhone, I’ve been using the Photoshop.com Mobile app to do simple edits like change brightness and contrast.
Thanks for taking the time to visit. I’d love to hear feedback about your thoughts on #draw365, my drawings, or any of the apps I mentioned above.
